Purpose

Spartan Strategies, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, established in 1991 as a support corporation to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). Located in the Gateway  Research Park in Browns Summit, North Carolina, Spartan Strategies, Inc. offers training and events space on a beautiful office campus in the Triad region, convenient to the Piedmont Triad International Airport and transport links across North Carolina and beyond. 

As an independent entity, Spartan Strategies, Inc. offers a range of competitively priced services, programs, and products to our clients. Drawing on the diverse skills and experience of our expert team of in-house professionals and consultants, Spartan Strategies, Inc. provides technical assistance, ​continuing education/​professional development, customized training services​, and selected event management​. These services and products range from creating and managing online courses, training seminars, and workshops, to custom course development, website design, database management, and other initiatives on request. 

Spartan Strategies, Inc.'s portfolio of services is designed and delivered with efficiency, integrity, and cost-effectiveness in mind. Our mission is to develop dynamic, flexible, engaging solutions for clients, with a focus on enhancing the lives of people and communities across the state and ​​beyond. An important SSI service is the exploration of entrepreneurial activities of faculty staff and students. SSI staff will assist constituents to think thought the process of taking an entrepreneurial idea and bring it to fruition.

Project Development by Spartan Strategies, Inc or the Office of Research Engagement

Spartan Strategies, Inc., a 509(a)(3) nonprofit corporation developed to support UNCG, conducts UNCG-related professional development and educational programs. Spartan Strategies, Inc. has a wide scope, but due to certain legislative requirements, some initiatives will instead be managed by the Office for Research Engagement (ORE).

Spartan Strategies, Inc. will conduct your project if it:

  • is a service project.
  • is a professional development program.
  • is a UNCG credit-bearing course/program approved by the Provost.
  • is a non-competitive project.
  • is not a federal project.
  • has no indirect cost provisions.
  • is a project where UNCG is the sole source provider.
  • is a one-time project.

Your project will be directed to ORE if it:

  • is a federal grant or contract.
  • allows for indirect costs.
  • is awarded as part of a competitive bidding process.
  • is a research rather than a service project.
