Stronger Connections Grantee Convening: Facilitating Safe, Healthy, and Supportive Learning Environments - April 30, 2025
Stronger Connections Grantee Convening: Facilitating Safe, Healthy, and Supportive Learning Environments - April 30, 2025
The purpose of the Stronger Connections Grantee Convening: Facilitating Safe, Healthy, and Supportive Learning Environments is to provide assistance to grantees in planning or improving plans for implementing effective schoolwide wellbeing and mental health strategies that create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments for all students.
In this one-day convening, participants will collaborate with peers in their districts, schools, and across the state to engage in relevant assessments, purposeful reflections, and thoughtful knowledge sharing. The event will also focus on strategic planning, skill-building, and collegial networking, while providing access to resources to inform best implementation practices.
Because the Stronger Connections Grants were awarded to Public School Units/LEAs, the most beneficial way to engage in this Convening is as a team. The ideal team would include the District Administrator overseeing the grant, and two school level staff (one Administrator and one key Faculty or Staff member) from one school identified as receiving SCG funding/supports per grade span served. For example, if a district identified that the grant would add additional counsellors to support the mental health of students in three middle schools and two high schools, the ideal team would consist of one District Administrator, one Principal, and one Counselor from one middle school and one high school served by the grant for a total of a five-person team. Thus, depending on the grade spans served by the grant, PSU/LEA teams may be comprised of three or five or seven members.
Teams will leave equipped with practical tools to support their districts and schools, helping them advance strategic planning and successfully carry out their Stronger Connections Grant initiatives.
